my cute sister

My one and only sister Aubree is so great and I just got these pictures of her from Junior Prom and had to post them because she looked amazing! Her dress was sooo pretty. I'm not sure if you get the full effect from these pictures because they're kind of small and blurryish, but it was so pretty and sparkly all over like the dress on the end of the Little Mermaid when she walks out of the water to meet her prince. Wow, you know you've worked with kids too long when everything in your life seems to relate to a Disney movie. ha ha I love it.
Aubree is the best though and I'm glad she had such a good time because she deserves it. We have our moments of course, being sisters, but she puts up with a lot from me and is a great friend. We have some pretty awesome photo shoots, as displayed below in our oh so glamourous picture. :) Thanks for everything Aubs!

oh how i love my job

Pretty sure my brain melted away about 7 minutes ago. Have you ever had a job that was so mindless and monotonous that you literally felt the boringness building up inside you until you felt like you were going to explode or just sink into a puddle of insanity?!!! That's how I'm feeling right now. :) ha ha. I don't have anyone to talk to and I've been scanning files all day and I feel like I'm about to start laughing hysterically about absolutely nothing at all so I decided to vent about it in my blog, although I sort of feel like I'm just talking to myself which isn't very comforting......yep she's definitely going over the edge. Sorry to be such a downer, I just really needed to get that out. I can't wait to start efy in a couple of weeks! So here's to all of you who have ever experienced this wonderful feeling of happiness as you strive to gain the monetary sustenance needed to make it through school and such... I feel your pain :) Well.... I guess I better get back to work........

fun at the farm

Cam and I were hanging out at the farm on Friday and took these pics before we went on a ride. It was my favorite time of day right before the sun goes down....sigh. I love being at the farm at that time of day. It makes me feel very thoughtful and peaceful and so happy. I feel so blessed to have farming and horses and all that in my family. I'm such a lucky girl! The weather has been so great these last couple of weeks so I've been able to go on a few fun rides. It totally beats homework and stress! And Cameron is such a funny little bro. I love hanging out and talking to him, he cracks me up. :) The things he says always keep us entertained and spiritually on track. Kind of a cute story about him... before he went to the priesthood session with my dad he was feeling a little ornery so he didnt really want to go and said he'd just sleep the whole time. When he got home my mom asked him how it was and tears filled his eyes. He said, "You know how when you read the scriptures there are different prophets speaking but there's always the same voice? It's like the voice of the Lord speaking through his servants. Well tonight when President Monson was speaking I heard that voice and I haven't felt that from him before. I know he's the right prophet now." That's pretty close to how he said it anyway. Isn't that kind of profound though? He's just so thoughtful and his heart is so pure! He thinks of little insights that I guess the rest of us would probably miss because we're too busy worrying about silly things that don't really matter. He's great. :)

i love spring!

We have a new addition to the family... Dixie had her colt! I love when spring comes and we get to have all the new baby calves and colts and the birds are singing and it's just beautiful. It was hard to get a picture of our colt because she is so friendly she kept coming over and sticking her nose in the camera. It was so cute. :) She loves to be petted and scratched all over. She's just like a little puppy! She's beautiful and strong and we're so excited to have her.

My uncle Mike also had a colt (well his horse did :) hee hee sorry) and it's so cute too! She posed perfectly for this picture so I had to post it even though she's not ours.
Oh and I bought a cow! She's all black and she has a tiny little black calf. So if you have any good cow name ideas let me know. I'm thinking Blackberry...? And don't worry I won't get too attached if I name it. Some people have expressed their concern about that but I promise I've eaten enough of our cows that have names that I'm pretty much heartless now. :) Hey maybe I should name it Junior Bacon Cheeseburger...
I'll definitely post a picture when I get one but they're in Hatch right now so it'll have to wait until next weekend when we go branding.

Roomies and Friends

It's so fascinating to me to think about the people who come into my life and change who I am, even if it's just in a small way, and how I am molded by those acquaintances. Woah that's kind of a big word and I have no idea if it's spelled right. The more I look at it the wierder it seems. :) ha ha sorry...long day at work! Anyway, this little blog is a tribute to my roommates and friends I had this semester who made it so much fun! I was so busy with work and school and everything that at times I felt like a chicken running around with my head cut off, but they helped me survive and laugh my way through it all. The day we took these pictures with all the roommates we cleaned all day and long into the night so we were all a little tired and silly. I have some other pictures that truly display our states of mind...but i don't think my roommates would appreciate them being published for the world to see. ha ha

In order from left to right we have Ariel who is now in Oregon with her family until she leaves on her mission next fall (I am so jealous!), me of course :), Charlie who is going to the U next year, Amanda who is going to Russia to teach English in 3 months, Dana who is the editor of the SUU news next year, and Jessica who is home for the summer but will be here for me to hang out with next year. It's so crazy...I feel like I just barely moved in with them and now everyone is all going on their own little adventures. I'm not very good at goodbyes. :(

Aubrey, my friend I met on a fateful day at work, has become one of my best friends over this past year and saved me so many times! It's always nice to have a buddy who understands how you feel and who you know you can count on to be there for you when boys are being frustrating. Pretty sure we doubled the business of the Maverik on Main Street with our frozen yogurt cravings after working out. Good times :)

home away from home...

I decided to put a few pictures of my apartment from this semester on my blog so my far away friends can see where I've been living for the last few months. The random yet very colorful decor pretty much describes the way things were run in our home away from home. I wasn't so sure about the glittery stars hanging from the living room light and our paper chain curtains (both of which I am bummed didn't show up in my picture!) when I first moved in, but I have to admit they kind of grew on me over time, as did the tie die tv. All in all it's been a great place to live! My only complaint was dish night when my turn rolled around every Friday, and even that wasn't so bad besides the very strange smells that emanated from the pots and pans in the sink. Sometimes my roomates came up with some very creative food combinations. :) I've gained a whole new appreciation for my mom's amazing culinary skills.

This is my side of my room. I was surprised on Saturday night after I moved home how quiet it was! I'm definitely going to miss waking up to hear Charlie talking in her sleep and her stories of me singing in mine. :) We decided we were going to buy a tape recorder so we would remember what the other was saying, but we didn't. I'm sure it would have been very entertaining though! Maybe next year...

I Survived!!! :)

Finals are over! Wahoo!!!! I'm so excited to be finished with all the tests, projects, and all that fun stuff. I also wanted to post some pictures real quick from the Relay for Life I walked in with my mom, my aunt and my cousins last weekend. It was great exercise plus we got to see some cool fireworks! We walked in honor of my Aunt Sharla who just finished her last chemo treatment. She's amazing...my family is seriously the best! :)
